Connolly Joins Cummings’ Call for Investigations Into Trump's Conflicts of Interest

"Mr. Trump’s current plan to avoid serious conflicts leaves more questions than answers." - Congressman Connolly
Congressman Gerry Connolly released the following statement today joining Ranking Member Cummings’ repeated calls for the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to launch investigations into Donald Trump’s many conflicts of interest:

“Chairman Chaffetz has said, even recently, that the role of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee should be to provide effective oversight, regardless of which Party is in power. I share a commitment to that goal. Donald Trump’s clear conflicts of interest present an opportunity for the Chairman to turn the page on the partisan witch hunts that defined the previous Congress. Mr. Trump’s current plan to avoid serious conflicts leaves more questions than answers about how insulated he will be from the Trump Organization. I encourage the Chairman to immediately investigate, in full public view, the total scope of these potential conflicts of interests with the same enthusiasm he has demonstrated over the last two years.”
