Today, Congressman Gerald E. Connolly (D-VA), the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, introduced a resolution to honor America’s public servants during Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW), which is celebrated during the first week in May.

“Public servants, including our incredible federal employees, are our nation’s unsung heroes,” said Connolly. “They ensure the safety of the food we eat, the prescription drugs we take, the air we breathe, and the water we drink. They make sure that Social Security checks arrive on time, protect us from foreign adversaries, keep our air travel safe, and perform thousands of other critical functions that directly impact the quality of our lives. During this Public Service Recognition Week, when public servants are under unprecedented attack, we should all take the opportunity to thank our federal employees, and every public servant, for their dedicated service to communities across America.”

The resolution is cosponsored by the following Members of Congress: Robert Garcia, Maxwell Frost, Shontel Brown, Dave Min, Jasmine Crockett, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Don Beyer, Stephen Lynch, Suhas Subramanyam, Jennifer McClellan, Johnny Olszewski, Steny Hoyer, Kweisi Mfume, and Eleanor Holmes Norton.

The resolution is supported by the Partnership for Public Service.
