Today, Rep. Gerald E. Connolly, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s FY2026 budget proposal which slashes funding for vital programs to feed tax giveaways for billionaires.
“President Trump’s FY2026 budget proposal is a slap in the face for hard-working American families struggling to make ends meet thanks to the Administration’s disastrous economic policies. Since day one, Trump and DOGE have wasted no time attacking the federal workforce, mercilessly slashing funding for life-saving services, and ripping away Americans’ access to basic necessities — all to feed their ultimate goal of more tax giveaways for the ultra-rich.” |
