Connolly Statement on the Anniversary of the October 7 Terrorist Attacks

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) released the following statement:

“Today marks one year since Hamas unleashed its brutal, horrific attack on Israel, murdering more than one thousand people and taking hundreds more hostage, including American citizens. Many of those hostages remain in captivity still, separated from their lives and families for 365 days.

As we honor the memories of those lost to Hamas’ terror, we must recommit ourselves to securing a deal that releases the hostages, puts an end to the humanitarian crisis, and establishes a durable ceasefire that brings a resolution to the conflict that has engulfed the region in death and destruction for too long. I stand with President Biden and Vice President Harris as they work tirelessly to achieve that goal.”
