Northern Virginia, and much of the mid-Atlantic region, could experience heavy rainfall, sever weather, and potential hurricane conditions that could result in flooding and loss of power. Northern Virginia, and much of the mid-Atlantic region, could experience heavy rainfall, sever weather, and potential hurricane conditions that could result in flooding and loss of power. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has declared a state of emergency throughout the Commonwealth so that public safety officials and citizens can prepare for Hurricane Joaquin as it approaches Virginia. Residents are encouraged to avoid traveling if possible. Below, please find some helpful information to track and prepare for the storm, and respond in the event of power outages.
