Connolly Statement on Ethics Committee Report on Rep. George Santos

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) released the following statement regarding the Ethics Committee’s newly released report on the misconduct of Rep. George Santos (R-NY):

“The Ethics Committee report is damning and makes official what has long been clear – George Santos is a crook, a liar, and a stain on the US House of Representatives. He has consistently proven himself to be untrustworthy. The report paints a clear picture of a man engaged in self-dealing, intentional deceit, and all kinds of illicit and corrupt behavior. Given his repeated refusal to do the right thing and resign his seat, he should be expelled from the House without delay. It is up to the House to decide when and how to police its members, and with today’s report Rep. Santos has used up every bit of due process he is owed. He has brought dishonor on the House, and it’s time for him to go.”
