Connolly Statement on Fitch's Downgrade

Fairfax, VA - Congressman Gerald E. Connolly, a senior member of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, released the following statement on Fitch’s downgrade announcement. “Fitch’s downgrade is a direct result of MAGA policies. Rooting for shutdowns and threatening default is no way to run a government. But Fitch unfairly discounts the robust recovery Biden has led. CHIPS, Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act have left the economy on solid footing. GOP is the only thing standing in the way.” |
