Türkiye Caucus Co-Chairs Statement on Earthquakes in Türkiye and Northern Syria

Today, Representatives Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Joe Wilson (R-SC), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Co-Chairs of the House Caucus on U.S.-Türkiye Relations, released the following statement regarding the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria:

"On behalf of the Caucus on U.S.-Türkiye Relations and Turkish Americans, we extend our heartfelt condolences in the wake of yesterday’s devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake and multiple powerful aftershocks that rocked southern Türkiye and Northern Syria. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the thousands who were killed and injured in the earthquake. We urge the Biden administration to work in lockstep with our allies to provide steadfast assistance for search and rescue operations and to assist Türkiye as it begins to recover from this horrific natural disaster. We stand together with Türkiye, a longstanding friend and ally of the United States, during this time of hardship."
