Connolly Statement on Escalating Conflict in the Middle East

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the recent violence in the Middle East. “The escalating conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is gravely concerning and heartbreaking. The world has watched in horror as more than 60 people have been killed, including more than a dozen children. We make a two-state solution more difficult to achieve if we fail to provide leadership in this moment of crisis. I applaud the Biden administration for acting swiftly to send a U.S. envoy to help end the violence and urge all stakeholders to start the reconciliation process.” |
