Korea Caucus Co-Chairs Statement on Blinken, Austin South Korea Visit

Washington, March 18, 2021

Today, Representatives Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Joe Wilson(R-SC), Ami Bera (D-CA) and Mike Kelly (R-PA), co-chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Korea, released the following statement on Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Defense Austin’s trip to the Republic of Korea. 

 

“As co-chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Korea, we welcome Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Defense Austin’s early visit to the Republic of Korea and their participation in the U.S.-ROK Foreign and Defense Ministerial on March 17-18. The U.S.-ROK Alliance is the linchpin of U.S. national security and stability in the Indo Pacific. Our countries -- bonded by shared commitments to democracy, free-market economics, human rights, and the rule of law -- will work to meet challenges at home, in the region, and across the globe.”
