By Nathan Curby: March 1, 2012 Congressman Gerry Connolly will visit kindergarten students in Dale City Friday morning to read to them. Connolly will be at McAuliffe Elementary School to participate in "Read Across America" in recognition of the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Connolly will be reading his own favorite book by Dr. Seuss, "Green Eggs and Ham." "The kids are quick to correct me if I get something wrong," Connolly said. "It’s a lot of pressure, but it’s worth it if it gets students more interested in reading." Connolly will be visiting the school from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. It will be his 18th time to participate in "Read Across America," and the fourth year in a row that he has taken part in Prince William County's celebration of the event. "Reading is critically important to a child’s education," Connolly said. "Growing up I loved to read. I try my best to bring that same passion and enthusiasm for reading to today’s students."
