During the course of the meeting, participants have the opportunity to pose questions to Connolly, who answers them over the phone in real time. Past participants say they like the meeting format because they can join the meeting without having to leave their home and travel to a meeting location. Overall, more than 125,000 11th CD residents have joined in on one or more of the telephone town meetings. 11th CD residents who want to guarantee that they are called for this meeting may sign up to participate by visiting Connolly’s congressional web site at: /teletownhall . “With many critical issues facing the nation, it is important that I hear the views of 11th CD constituents,” Connolly said. “These telephone town meetings provide a great way for me to keep my constituents up-to-date on my actions and hear their views on the issues at hand.” |
