Connolly Statement on the Assaults on Worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the assaults on worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque:

“I am deeply troubled by reports that there were assaults on worshippers at Al-Aqsa mosque, including my constituents. Places of worship, especially these holy sites, should be safe spaces free from violence. I call on Secretary Pompeo and Israeli authorities to investigate this incident, and immediately take steps to protect those visiting these sites.”
