Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) released the following statement on the release of the Senate GOP's health care repeal proposal:
"The Senate health care repeal is just as mean as House bill. It contains devastating cuts to Medicaid. It limits essential health benefits. It defunds Planned Parenthood. No wonder it was crafted behind closed doors. "Rather than dismantle the Affordable Care Act, we should build on its successes and find bipartisan improvements. We need to search for ways to encourage more people - especially young individuals - to join the marketplaces. We need to bring down prescription drug costs by promoting price competition. Americans want solutions, not to have their health care ripped away." |
